Eyelid Lift Surgery operation in Turkey

Aesthetic eyelid lifting surgery is one of the most performed and preferred aesthetic surgeries in our clinic in Istanbul. The result is visible immediately, the healing process is short, and the person immediately looks up to 10-15 years younger.

Swelling on the eyelids (similar to bags under the eyes) can sometimes be genetic, but sometimes it occurs with age or is worsened by lack of sleep and fatigue. These changes in the eyelids can make the person look more tired and older than they actually are.

​

These structural changes in the eyes can take the form of sagging, wrinkles, lines, swelling (herniation) of the lower eyelids, increase in wrinkles, colour changes, drooping of the corners of the eyes and dark circles. These eye changes make the person look old, tired and unwell.

Procedures for eyelid surgery

The eyelid aesthetic surgery procedure usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes for each eyelid. In eyelid aesthetics, small amounts of tissue are removed from excess skin, underlying muscle tissue and herniated fat pads. Then these structures are closed anatomically one after the other. Since sufficient excess skin is removed from the upper eyelid, this correction lasts almost a lifetime.

 

After the procedure, the suture line is placed on the eyelid's crease. This area contains its lines and folds, and the tissue is very loose; there will be a very indistinct scar- or even no visible.

An incision is made on the lower eyelid just below the lashes, excess muscle, orbital fat and skin are removed as needed, and, if necessary, the muscle layer is reinforced to correct sagging.

After aesthetic eyelid surgery

Because very thin tapes are used in the postoperative period, you will be able to see your surroundings. After this operation, there is no eye closure (no eye folding). Applying ice packs to the eyes for the first 24 hours will reduce swelling and bruising. However, there is always swelling and bruising early on. Too loose eyelid skin causes it to swell immediately but heals just as quickly. During the check-up, 2 days later, the suture line will be cleaned, and the tapes will be renewed.

Swelling and bruising of the eyelids last 5-7 days, and the person can return to work after 5 days. One month after eyelid surgery, eyelid surgery becomes invisible, and recovery is complete 6 months after surgery.
